OUR BREEDING PRACTICES

Dogs Australia Registered Breeder
BREMBURG - 2100025327
Breeders of Certified Pedigree Standard Poodles in Australia.
We also Export Internationally.

We are upfront in saying our Pedigree Standard Poodle Pups are more expensive than average Registered Breeders due to the extra time and effort we put into Breeding Selection, Health Testing, Training, Socialising, Nutrition, Training and raising our pups.

TRAINING AND SOCIALISING

Our training program starts at 3 days of age with Early Neurological Stimulation and Early Scent Introduction.

We run clippers (with no blade) over our pups bodies, along with combing and brushing, which is done for 2 minutes twice each day. Toenail clipping is done every few days and face, feet and tail base shaving is done regularly from 3 weeks of age.

We socialise and play many different sounds including thunder storms, fireworks, doorbells, children playing, cars and trains several times each day.

We have puppy play dates where we invite children, and people with hats, beards and glasses to play with pups at least twice while they are with us. Pups are taken in an enclosed push pram, exposing them from seven weeks of age to environmental sounds and smells like, cars, buses, trains, joggers, children, other animal scents and sounds, the beach, cafes and more.

We have trainers that work with our pups to help them adjust to the same training regime with different people.

The results are healthy, balanced, habituated and well adjusted pups who have commenced leash, toilet and crate training.

DIET & VITALITY

We only feed (and recommend) a raw and natural diet. Pups are weaned onto, and fed, fresh human-grade Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, Duck and Salmon to check for allergies.

We provide a separate targeted diet to our pups’ that promotes gut health by feeding the Microbiota in their gut with Goat Kefir and fermented vegetables. There is a small window of time where this needs to be done, and needs to be done while they are with the breeder. Doing helps eliminate gastrointestinal issues during their lifetime.

THERAPY & SUPPORT DOGS

Additional training is done with any pups after temperament testing, that are assessed as suitable, Therapy, Support or Medical Service Dogs. We contact the training facility that will doing ongoing training with the pup for the new owner to ask what additional training they would like done with the pup while they are with us. If the training facility would like the pup to be sent to them early, this can be arranged from 8 weeks of age. Pups’ are usually with us until they are 9-10 weeks old.

EVALUATION

We have individual temperament testing done by experienced, breed-specific mentors and a Delta Trainer who perform a series of evaluations designed for Service Dogs to test their temperament. This helps us choose the right family for each pup based on their answers on our Enquiry Form - such as what type of lifestyle they live and what their expectations are for adding a puppy to their family dynamic.

Because of this process, we only need to know the preferred sex of a puppy a family or person is looking for. It’s important to note that we do not allow “pick of litter”, “visual or emotional attachment” or “colour/markings choices”. This is not in the best interest of the puppy or the family.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

We recommend being on our waiting list. Our Pedigree pups are in high demand, and our waiting list is normally larger than the number of pups born in one litter. Don’t be deterred thinking you will never get a pup! The assessment process for approved owners is not first-in-first-allocated. We assess every enquiry to make sure the family, home, lifestyle and financial suitability match what is required for ongoing love, grooming and care for one of our Pedigree Standard Poodles. If you are on our waiting list we will update as news comes to hand.

WE AREN’T ALL TALK
(unlike some 😉)

We prove what we do. We often video our training sessions and post to our Facebook and Instagram. If you have any questions, would like a personal visit to meet us, or FaceTime call, these are encouraged and can be arranged by appointment. Please contact us.

We are very passionate about what we do and your new pup will always be part of our family too.
